The HC71SB Auto Setback is a completely tamperproof thermostat with automatic setback that limits the heat to 71 degrees. When in heat mode, the HC71SB resets itself to 68 degrees every 3 hours. This thermostat has all the advantages of a 7 day programmable thermostat, except there is no programming needed.

The HC7272 Limiting thermostat is for landlords that want a slightly higher temperature limit. The highest possible setting on this model is 72 degrees. The tenants cannot set the heat higher than 72 degrees. Plus, the AC cannot be set lower than 72 degrees either. As with all of Chicago Controls Thermostats, Inc.’s thermostats, the HC7272 is completely tamper proof and is a simple wire for wire replacement. Plus, it only takes about 5 minutes to install.
What makes these thermostats COMPLETELY tamper proof?
The setting limits are programmed into the printed circuit boards (PCBs). Meaning, there is no way to change the setting range without replacing the actual circuit board.
Do I have to program each thermostat with a security code?
